In its 10th year, the National Children’s Theatre Festival is an excellent chance to introduce your youngster to the live stage.
With productions varying from classic storybook fairy tales to toe-tapping musicals to original comedies, audiences of all ages will love the smile-inducing performances. Enjoy the sweet Miami sunshine as the festival moves outdoors for a fantastic street party filled with spontaneous performances and rousing live music.
Children will get the opportunity to participate in acting, makeup, and stagecraft workshops allowing them to get a first-hand look at how the theatre really works.
In addition to these informative and fun workshops, children get the chance to create fun crafts, interesting artwork, and enjoy street festival staples like face painting and balloon animals.
The whole family will have fun at this festival to celebrate the wonders of children’s theatre. Several local theatres are sponsoring special performances in honor of the festival, including the Actor’s Playhouse’s production of “Isabelle and the Pretty-Ugly Spell,” a musical look at a humorous fairytale.
