Miami’s International Mango Festival is a great annual event that provides both fun and education for kids and parents alike. The mango is the center of all the activities, from cooking to games.
Children under 13 will have a blast at the Mangos For Kids event. Saturday’s activities for kids include mango face painting, learning about insects that are helpful to mangos, decorating a mango seed, a mango puppet show, cooking with mangos and a mango decorating contest.
On Sunday, children can get a mango tattoo and cool off with mango popsicles. Parents will want to check out the Mango Tree sales in the morning, when the garden offers trees cultivated to stay small and still produce wonderful fruit.
Explore the largest collection of mangos in the world, with fruit of many colors and shapes, and sample the different flavors of ten varieties of mango.
In the morning, try amazing mango dishes created by local chefs, or enjoy a mango smoothie. Learn to dry mangos or make juice, chutney, jam and even ice cream.
On Sunday, watch the Chutney Challenge competition, indulge in the Mango Brunch, or attend a workshop to learn how to properly grow and care for a mango tree.
The International Mango Festival will help both young and old find a new appreciation for this amazing fruit and provide hours of delicious fun!
