 Rainforest Café

Always wanted to take a stroll through a tropical rainforest? I bet you never thought you could do so in Houston! This unique restaurant is truly an experience all of its own. There’s even a gift shop where you can purchase a souvenir of the occasion. The impressive kids menu (for those 12 and under) has kids sized pasta, pizza, popcorn shrimp and turkey wraps with two desert options. Standouts on the kids’ menu include Dinosaur-shaped breaded chicken and Shrimpkens- a combination of popcorn shrimp and chicken tenders. Dessert options are a sundae or Lava Mud, which is chocolate pudding with crushed Oreo cookies and gummy worms. Older kids can feast on fried chicken, a fish sandwich, or chicken chimichangas. Seafood lovers have options of fish and chips, fried shrimp, and Cyclone crab cakes available to them.

For those with larger appetites, Maya’s Combo is a platter combination of slow-roasted ribs, shrimp skewers and Tuscan chicken with fries and a vegetable. This dish can be shared or kept all to yourself. The Nile Shrimp En Brochette is another heaping helping of food. It has crabmeat-stuffed shrimp, jalapenos, and cheese all wrapped in bacon and fried. If you like your food spicy, Pastalaya has shrimp, chicken, peppers, onions and sausage tossed in a Cajun sauce and served over linguine.

A full dessert menu is available to choose from but the restaurant’s dessert Volcano is something that has to be seen to be believed.
