Homestead-Miami
Speedway Miami
Location: One Speedway Boulevard, Homestead
NASCAR racing made its debut in the Miami area in November
of 1995 with the grand opening of Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida.
The ultra-modern facility, located south of Miami, drew a sellout crowd of 60,000
race fans to its first event, the season finale for the 1995 NASCAR Busch Series
Grand National Division season. It has been called the most beautiful sports facility
in America, and is certainly the most beautiful racing facility anywhere on the
planet.
While its Art Deco architecture would be considered beautiful
even on South Beach in Miami, its massive size and vibrant colors make it especially
attractive amongst the field of South Miami-Dade County. It is Homestead-Miami Speedway,
a 434-acre facility located 25 minutes south of Miami International Airport. With
the skyline of Miami visible to the Northeast, the Speedway is in one of the most
ideal locations of any Speedway in America. It is within a two-hour drive of more
than five million South Florida residents, yet nestled between the tranquil beauty
of the city to the north, the Biscayne Bay to the East, the Florida Keys to the
South and the Florida Everglades to the West.
