South Beach is one of Miami's main tourist areas. Here you can relax on white sand beaches, take a walking tour of the Art Deco District, or even do some shopping. Some South Beach highlights are listed below. Lummus Park - A lush park on the beach side of Ocean Drive that attracts people from all walks of life.

East of Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th Streets. Art Deco District Welcome Center - Here you can rent audiotapes for a self-guided tour of the Art Deco District. The building also houses a gift shop that sells Art Deco memorabilia, posters, and books. 1001 Ocean Drive at Barbara Capitman Way. Casa Casuarina - The house where fashion designer Gianni Versace was tragically shot and killed in 1997.

The area now attracts picture-taking tourists. 1114 Ocean Drive. The Carlyle - Built and operated during the 1940’s, this hotel is now a popular movie filming location. 1250 Ocean Drive. Lincoln Road Mall - A spectacular pedestrian-only mall with specialty shops featuring jewelry, electronics, clothing and art, plus an assortment of restaurants. Lincoln Road at 16th Street.
