Overview

 

Half Moon Kayaking/Snorkeling Trip

These trips are scheduled per the conditions of the tides. Trips begin at the Crandon Park Visitors' and Nature Center. Participants can provide their own snorkeling gear or rent equipment on site. Dive vests will be provided. For the kayak trips, unless otherwise stated, bring a snack, beverage, sun screen, and a hat. Group size is limited.  This trip is for ages 18 and over.

 

Fossilized Reef Kayaking/Snorkeling Trip

This trip is rated easy to moderate - a great introduction to snorkeling for beginners. It consists of 1 3/4 miles of coastal kayaking and 45 minutes of shallow water snorkeling. Kayak along the Key Biscayne shoreline exploring the abundant marine life that inhabits the sea grass beds. Then you will do your snorkeling gear and explore the fossilized mangrove reef formed from petrified black mangroves 1500 years ago.

 

Key Biscayne Kayaking/Snorkeling Trips

Rental of snorkeling gear is available at an additional fee. Rated:
Moderate - consists of 45 minutes of coastal kayaking and 45 minutes of snorkeling. Meet at the Crandon Park Marina. This kayaking trip will focus on the bay side of Key Biscayne and pre-determined snorkeling sites. The naturalist guided trip will focus on sea grass flats, mangrove habitats, and artificial reefs.
